Note: A good route with highest success rate to the summit due to longer acclimatization period obtained by serving overnight stay at Karanga or Lava Tower camp
Depart by vehicle to machame.
At the gate your will meet a team of crew preparing packing camping stuff and registration
begin trekking from Machame gate and continue through forest zone to Machame camp
Have a picnic lunch with scenic outlook for pretty flora and a graduation of climate zones enroute.
Overnight stay at Machame Camp with full board.
Trek to Shira Camp.
A picnic lunch is taken on trail.
Pass through a passage attracted with plants.
Various geologic features can be seen from lava to glacial valleys.
Overnight stay at Shira Camp for full board
Walk high to sleep low through alpine desert and for those that are feeling strong you can even head up to Lava Tower then descending to Barranco camp.
Lunch is taken as a picnic lunch enroute.
You will experience great acclimatization day!
Overnight Barango Camp for full board basis.
Trek Barranco wall which get us to a rolling trail on the south-eastern edge of Kibo with excellent view of the Southern Icefields.
Trek to the camp at Karanga (4,000 m.).
There is abundant time to rest for a short time with optional acclimatization walk in the afternoon up the valley above the camp. [4-5 hours walking]
Trek the steep Karanga, and then
Trek through compacted scree with wide outlook to reach Mweka Junction (4,150 m.).
Gradually hike to reach the Barafu campsite (4,600 m.)
Resting and acclimatization for the final climb before an early night. [4-5 hours walking]
Start trekking early in the morning in order to be at the Crater rim by sunrise.
The trek over slack volcanic scree which is steeper has several well-graded zig-zags landscapes
Rest there for a small amount of to use of the sunrise over Mawenzi.
You can make the 2 hour round trip from here along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,896 m.),
The retrace to Barafu and continue to go down to reach our final campsite (3,800 m.)
Some of us will may be too tired to see the gorgeousness of the forest surrounding the crowded campsite. [11-15 hours walking]
A constant descend through lavish green forest with lush bushes takes us to the Mweka Gate and on through coffee and banana farms to Mweka village. [4-6 hours walking]
